BALANCED PROGRAMS AND OPEN COURT USE
In response to all our members desires and needs, we will operate our program and teams in a manner so as to have courts available for open play at all times, with the exception of limited events which will be approved, designated and communicated in advance. Our goal is to have four courts available for open play at all times, except as noted.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
This event, open to all members, is a highlight of the tennis season. It is a fun way to move into the fall, getting more tennis in before thoughts turn to paddle. In order to provide opportunity for increased participation in our traditional intra-club championship tournament, the period of play will be expanded this year. Scott will have signup
sheets posted in mid-August. Signups will end August 24th or so. Matches will start after Labor Day and continue through September with the finals played on Saturday Oct. 4. Intermediate milestones for each bracket will be set to maintain a pace of progress. The categories will include Men’s, Senior Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed singles and doubles competition. The format of play is single elimination. Please watch the boards for sign-ups and information.

YOUTH PROGRAM AND TEAMS
Boy’s and Girl’s Interclub Teams: Let’s build on the continued positive progress of developing a rich and proud program of competition, sportsmanship and appreciation for the game. Scott is looking forward to helping your children learn and appreciate a game that you can enjoy for a lifetime. Please call him to sign up your child and/or arrange for lessons and clinics. Martins Dam has produced numerous tennis players who learned the game on our own tennis courts and went on to play in high school and college. More importantly, though, many more have learned tennis at Martins and have developed a life long love for the sport, the attendant health benefits
and the friendships that result from playing the game.
CRITERION: This is a developmentally competitive league. Scott will teach the fundamentals of the game, including how to keep score for those just starting! Age groups: 10 & under, 12 & under, 15 & under, and 16 and over. Scott and his assistants will coach both the girls and boys teams. Cost is $60 ($50 for each additional child per family), which covers all drills, lessons, balls and team coaching. Sign up in the Pro shop. Also, please bring a 64 oz bottle of Gatorade or a large bag of pretzels or chips per child to the first practice for use as refreshments at matches. Practice begins the week of June 6th.  Practice and match schedule as follows:
          BOYS
Practice:  Mon & Wed 2:00 – 3:30 (No practice June 6th & 8th) ; Tues & Thurs  3:30 – 5:00.  Matches are Mon and Wed at 12:30.
          GIRLS
Practice: Tues & Thurs 2:00 – 3:30(No practice June 7th & 9th) ; Mon & Wed  3:30 – 5:00.  Matches are Tues & Thurs at 12:30.

More players sign up than can be fit into the available team positions. Ladder competition, positive practice participation, and availability determine who competes each week. Those participants who are not competitively able to play regularly in the team matches will still practice and play challenging matches during the week.
The teams benefit from a parent coordinator for such things as car-pooling to matches. We are looking for volunteers for both teams. Please watch the board for announcements on organization meetings for teams while letting Scott know if you can help transport players to matches.
